Digital companion app ‘EVA AI’ has released a Pride Month update introducing LGBTQ+ characters to the AI partner service.
EVA AI sees chatbots text, video call and send pictures to users, assuming the companionship role of ‘AI girlfriends or boyfriends’.
The Pride Month update sees four new characters added to the app, including gay character Teddy, a trans woman called Cherrie, a bisexual character called Edward and a lesbian character called Sam. The 3D chatbots are customisable and can be tailored to the preferences of specific users.
Characters interact with users via voice messages, texts, video calls and photos, with varying degrees of flirtation.
“We are so pleased to expand our lineup of companions to include LGBTQ+ characters,” an EVA AI spokesperson said in a statement.
“This development is not just a technological advancement; it is a celebration of diversity and inclusivity. By providing more representative options, we aim to create a more welcoming and supportive environment for all of our users, particularly those in the LGBTQ+ community.”
