Mint Mobile, a US-based network provider, has released a one-night-only promo to celebrate International Singles Day. With the “One Night Plan”, users will receive a temporary phone number, helping them mingle without a big commitment.
On Saturday 11th November, International Singles Day, wireless users can get a brand new number for one night only. Like Cinderella’s pumpkin, the faux number will expire at midnight, at 11:59pm PST on November 12th.
“If you’re single and looking for a new FWB (Friend with Wireless Benefits), we’ve got you covered”, the company shared.
This tongue-in-cheek campaign gives singles a true trial run of Mint’s service, “without committing to the wireless provider or a potential suitor”.
“For singles, giving out your number to a stranger is always a bit of a gamble. As a wireless carrier, we’re in a unique position to help singles out on National Singles Day with our “One Night Plan” that gives them a temporary number. Then they can save their real number for marriage”, said Aron North, Chief Marketing Officer of Mint Mobile.
The “One Night Plan” can be accessed through the Mint Mobile app, providing users with 5GB of 5G / 4G LTE data.
For dating platforms, providing methods for users to connect IRL or online, without having to share their phone numbers, can be a helpful way to support singles as they mingle.
