Pairfect is a new dating app where matchmakers will provide personalised recommendations for potential matches. The platform’s users are said to be 12 times more likely to meet someone in person, compared with traditional dating apps.
Founded in Philadelphia by couples therapist Annie Xu, Pairfect says that it is the “authentic alternative to dating apps”. Inspired by the constant frustrations that her friends experienced while on dating apps, Xu decided to create a different type of platform.
Upon signing up and sharing their preferences, users will be put into a call with a matchmaker to discuss further. From there, the platform will share suggested connections and users will have 24 hours to decide whether to accept the match.
“With dating apps, it oftentimes feels like there’s an illusion of choice because there’s so many options presented to people. We actually will intentionally only do one match at a time…”, Annie Xu told 6ABC.
The platform has 11 matchmakers in its team, with more than 1,200 users currently. The platform also partners with local venues to provide date options and discounts.
Aiming to be a more affordable alternative to traditional matchmaking, Pairfect is currently giving users a two week free trial. After that, the subscription will renew at $29.99 USD per month.
