IKEA and dating app Breeze are teaming up this Valentine’s Day – the collaboration will give nine lucky couples in London, Manchester, and Edinburgh the chance to have their first date in an IKEA store, complete with a romantic dinner in bed.
The initiative is based on IKEA’s Six Sleep Essentials, which include factors like mattress firmness, temperature, and duvet thickness – elements that can influence how well a couple sleeps together. Breeze’s expert matchmakers will assess users’ sleep preferences and select pairs who are most compatible. Those chosen will enjoy a unique first date set in an IKEA showroom, designed to test both their chemistry and sleep habits.
This isn’t just a demonstration of Breeze’s matchmaking ability, but also a great excuse for the platform to get placed in a very prominent position. As an app focused heavily on online dates after matching online, Breeze is able to benefit from these partnerships with physical businesses more effectively, something that this team-up is based around.
Breeze co-founder Marsha Goei highlighted the app’s focus on fostering meaningful, real-life connections. “We’re excited to partner with IKEA to create a truly special dating experience that celebrates the magic of finding someone who is genuinely compatible,” she said. Tania Douglas, IKEA’s commercial activity leader, said “At IKEA, we believe everyone deserves a good night’s sleep—so we’re excited to team up with Breeze to help those looking for love to find someone they can sleep soundly with.”
The event runs today – February 10th – with sign-ups already having completed. Beyond the dating event, IKEA is also launching exclusive promotions and sleep-focused activities for IKEA Family Members, with Breeze no doubt nudging users towards those promotions as part of the larger partnership.
