Meet Executive Matchmaker Jill Vandor
Jill Vandor’s extensive career in the dating and matchmaking industry dates back to 1996, beginning with her role as a center director for matchmaking franchise Great Expectations.
Five years later, she transitioned into a VP role of another national matchmaking service, staying there 8 years before becoming a regional manager at eLove.
She joined LunchDates in 2012 as an executive matchmaker, and has also been a national sales manager for a sales company since 2004.
One of Boston’s longest-running matchmaking services, LunchDates was founded back in 1982. It serves singles in Boston, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, with 5 offices centrally located in Boston, Braintree, Burlington, Newton, and Nashua.
In an interview with CBS News, Vandor shared that many clients come to LunchDates because they feel disillusioned by the world of online dating.
“You know, being on the app, swiping left and right, it’s tiresome. People get ghosted, people get catfished. A lot of people like the fact of the confidentiality, they like the fact that they are outsourcing it.”

A Peek At The LunchDates Process
LunchDates offers both 6 and 12 month contracts, but Vandor says she prefers working with clients for an entire year.
As she explained, she likes to account for the different phases people go through over time.
“Ideally, I like to work with people for a minimum of six months, but ideally a year. And the reason I like to work with people for about a year is that people act differently at different times in the year.”
Clients are matched with other clients, or with singles in the LunchDates database. But the level of service you get depends on which package. For instance, not going on blind dates or having the activity planned for you may require a larger investment.
Basic matchmaking packages start around $3,000, and go up from there.
