A global technology company has claimed AI and online dating helps reduce loneliness following the release of their new research report.
A recent research study from Social Discovery Group (SDG) revealed 67% of users turned to dating platforms and AI to create relationships and feel less lonely in the last year.
The report looked into how the loneliness epidemic is influencing the use of dating across different demographics.
Figures indicated the increasing consumption of online dating apps as time users spent on these apps has increased by 35% since 2022.
Other key dating findings in the study highlighted 71% of singles who choose not to meet their new matches in person admitted virtual messaging alone has given them a sense of companionship.
The gender breakdown suggested women are most likely to turn to dating apps to avoid solitude with 62% as opposed to 56% of men.
Gen Z users are reportedly resorting to online platforms the most with 46% using dating apps, compared to 15% of millennials and 9% of Gen Xers.
SDG also claimed AI features on apps help users increase confidence and build relationships as 64% surveyed said AI experimenting has helped them deal with arguments or disagreements in relationships.
Moreover, 38% of men surveyed have used AI to help verbalise their needs and desires through generated prompts and talking points.
