Tinder has partnered with Somerset House in London for a series of Skate Dates this winter season. Held at an ice-rink, these events will see skaters mingle on the ice with DJs creating a fun atmosphere.
For four evenings throughout November and December, the dating app is partnering with Somerset House to host a fun activity for IRL dates. Perfect for first dates, date nights, or just an evening with friends, Londoners are invited to get involved with this festive activity.
Tinder highlights that 71% of singles prefer an activity-based date, highlighting that these offline meetings help to reveal chemistry and see different sides to a match.
The dating app also highlights that newer generations of daters are going for less traditional dates. For example, after analysing profile bios of UK Tinder users, the dating app shared that 56% of those who mentioned ice skating are part of Gen Z.
“With cuffing season firmly upon us and Christmas just around the corner, we’re bringing some ‘festive cheer’ to dating”, said Laura Wilkinson-Rea, Senior Director of Communications, Northern Europe at Tinder.
“We know that young singles are looking for an activity date to ‘break the ice’, so we’re so excited to bring singles together by launching our ‘Skate Dates’ takeover at Somerset House. From showing off party tricks to holding hands on the ice, this type of date has the potential to create sparks!”, Wilkinson-Rea added.
