Bumble has released its 2025 dating trends report, evealing a shift toward authenticity and self-prioritization in dating. According to Bumble’s findings, Gen Z and Millennial women are embracing clearer expectations and prioritizing transparency, with 72% of Bumble users globally reporting a focus on finding long-term partners within the next year. However, as tolerance for compromise declines, 66% of surveyed women indicated that they’re no longer willing to settle for less than they want in relationships.
This authenticity-driven mindset extends beyond partner expectations. The study highlights a resurgence of romantic values, with 58% of British women identifying as romantics and 44% stating that a lack of romance has impacted their dating experiences. Realness in dating content is also on the rise – Bumble’s data indicates that 41% of singles globally are engaging with the candid highs and lows of dating shared online.
Unique hobbies and interests have also gained prominence as an important part of being authentic on dating platforms, with 60% of UK singles saying these quirks boost attraction. Meanwhile, conversations around challenging male stereotypes are also growing, as 36% of surveyed users explore these topics more openly. The focus on the future has also begun to influence dating choices, with 95% of singles indicating that future stability is a core consideration for any match.
All of this only emphasises the growing desire for authenticity in the dating space,s something that has become increasingly difficult to ignore as users actively seek out platforms that make it possible. With Bumble’s recent PUMA partnership that specifically targets running hobbyists and their plans to create an AI wingman to help users spark up proper conversations, they are likely aiming to take advantage of how important personal interests and unique self-expression are becoming in the dating sphere.
