Bumble is known for its unique feature where women must make the first move when two users match. For every one of these first moves, the dating app is donating funds to 3 charitable organisations, with users able to select which non-profit they want to support.
In a recent blog post, Bumble shared that its charitable program ‘Moves Making Impact’, will direct funds to three non-project organisations for every first move made on the app.
The three non-profits this program is supporting are:
National Domestic Violence Helpline
- Operating 24/7, this service provides essential support for survivors of domestic violence and has responded to over 6 million contacts since 1996.
Vital Voices’ Entrepreneurship Program
- This organisation supports and invests in female-led solutions to global challenges. Calling themselves “venture catalysts”, Vital Voices enhances the skills, connections, and visibility of inspirational women who are enacting change.
- Part of the National Geographic Society, this initiative looks to protect pollinator species such as bees; whilst also supporting female researchers and other underrepresented groups in this field.
Users on Bumble are given the ability to select which cause their First Moves will support. This feature can be found in the settings page, under ‘Moves Making Impact Settings’.
