Drena Kusari, General Manager of the Bumble app, recently discussed the platform’s reach in Mexico and Latin America. She highlighted that Bumble is seeing traction in the region and that a friend-finding focus is a recipe for success
“We continue to maintain really strong traction in Mexico and the rest of Latin America”, Kusari shared in a new interview with Forbes Mexico. “We are seeing continued traction from a download share standpoint, as well as different levels of growth across markets”, she added.
The article points out that Bumble’s expansion into new areas is helped by its natural word-of-mouth spread across communities. Kusari shared that this is driven by the platform’s value proposition for women, in terms of safety and empowerment.
“This is also proof that our value proposition continues to resonate with Mexican users, but also with users throughout Latin America,” she said.
She also touched on the launch of the Bumble BFF product. “We are very excited about Bumble BFF. We continue to see tremendous traction and it’s a really exciting offering”, Kusari told Forbes Mexico
Kusari highlights a major factor in the growth of the social discovery market: the loneliness epidemic. She highlights the BFF platform as a way to address this social issue.
“The number of searches about how and where to meet people is at an all-time high. Young women in college and in other stages of life are moving to a new city for a new job and it is not easy to go through those experiences. That’s why we know there is demand for an app that helps build healthy friendships and find communities like this”, she explained.
