Researchers from the University of Manchester will be sharing their findings about the use of dating apps to negotiate intimate relationships during and after the COVID-19 pandemic. The event is free to attend and will take place on September 6th 2024.
The event, named ‘Intimacy, Risk and Resilience in Online Dating’, is inviting community organisations, policymakers, dating industry professionals, and more, to attend. It will be held at the Manchester Museum on Friday 6th September 2024.
The event is the culmination of an ongoing research project which explores LGBT+ and heterosexual dating app connections forged before, during and after the COVID-19 pandemic. The project received funding from the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC).
Researchers shared that they are interested in engaging in dialogue around how we use dating apps.
“We encourage attendees from academia, community and voluntary organisations, policymakers and practitioners. Our aim is to engage with your different perspectives on intimacy, health and resilience and we plan to use the conference as the springboard to co-produce – with interested attendees – a recommendations document on our key themes”, they explained.
This event is free to attend and the organisers have a small number of travel bursaries for people who work in voluntary or community organisations and who could not otherwise attend the event.
