Fika 3.0 Goes Live with New AI Feature

Dating & social app Fika has gone live with its 3.0 version, introducing its new feature ‘AI Find’. The platform is harnessing AI to help users find the people they’re interested in, whether it be based on looks or personality traits.

Fika, which mainly serves users in Vietnam and Asia, has rolled out a new update. The key focus of the update is the new premium feature ‘AI Find’.

In a recent LinkedIn post, the platform explained that users will now be able to upload a photo of an ideal match. It also allows for advanced filters to be added, based on height, education, zodiac sign, religion, and more. These features will together help the platform to recommend potential matches based on aesthetics and personality.

Denise Sandquist, CEO and Founder of Fika, explained the inspiration behind the AI Find tool saying: 

“I found my Vietnamese mother thanks to the help of hundreds of thousands of kind strangers who shared my Facebook post back in 2016, which is the basis of Fika’s vision and mission – to revolutionize the way we connect and create meaningful connections, globally”

“I just wanted to create something with technology and AI that could help people experience the same feeling as I had, when I found someone dear to me who had been ‘missing’”.

“The more I thought about it, the more I realized that people did not necessarily have to be adopted and have a parent they wanted to find – but the feeling of finding “connection” and sometimes “someone” we would feel is missing in our lives, is universal”

In addition to this new feature, Fika has rolled out a new look which it describes as “warm, clean, and light”. The sign-up process has also been updated, now requiring new users to be verified, to share at least 3 photos, and to fill in a certain amount of information.

The explanation behind this is that “the more we get to know our users, the easier it is for us to pair them up with someone compatible”, the platform shared.

As part of this new update, Fika will be giving free credits to all new users during December, allowing them to try out AI Find and other premium benefits.
