Man Spends 30K in 3 Weeks on Girl He’s Dating, Only for Her to Land in Another Guy’s Arms

Man Spends 30K in 3 Weeks on Girl He’s Dating, Only for Her to Land in Another Guy’s Arms

The older I get, the more I realize my fellow hombres have sold me a shitty bill of goods.

Particularly regarding the gold digger label.

Any time I see a woman dating or married to a man of means, the term almost always gets brandished around with zero fucks given to how or why the woman in question came to be in that position.

    And I have had it.

So today, I’m going to show you exactly why calling women gold diggers doesn’t hold up to scrutiny.

Before I begin, I would like to share this TikTok video to illustrate my point more effectively.

It’s about a guy who dated a girl for a few weeks, spending nearly half of what the average person makes in a year, only to end up dumping her and then complaining about it.

    Video by jsally5656 on TikTok

Spending 30k in three weeks is wild

So, this guy meets a girl from God knows what country, and then, within a short space of time, decides it would be a swell idea to bring her stateside for a holiday — just because.

There’s no getting to know you or slow-burn dating; just let’s jump right in and do something traditionally reserved for people who are committed.

    If that wasn’t bad enough…

He didn’t even choose the sensible option of waiting a few months until she had her shit together, opting instead to pay for everything: transportation, accommodation, utilities, the whole shebang.

And once she arrived, the problems continued.

On the ski resort vacation, which was his idea, not hers, the weather turned out to be unfavorable through no fault of his own. But instead of chalking this one up to bad luck, he made another bad decision and decided, in his infinite wisdom, to take the girl to Mexico to make up for the bad skiing conditions.

And it was in Mexico that he finally realized the girl he had been messing with was an ungrateful brat (even though the signs were there all along), leading to the whole parting of ways and her meeting another man.

    …

Before I say what I’m going to say, I want to preface by saying that this woman is by no means a good person. She’s selfish, disrespectful, and above all, unappreciative.

But even with that, I don’t see any deception and manipulation on her part.

And I certainly do not blame her one bit for taking advantage of this man.

Despite the numerous people (mostly men) in the comment section labeling her as an opportunistic gold digger.

Showing just how blinded by their own biases some people can be.

    …

Gold digger is not an accurate label

Throughout, it’s the man who offered to pay, not the girl.

While she did ask him for things here and there, it was all part of the agreement.

Remember, at the very beginning, our guy was given two options: to either wait two months until she has her own money or to expedite meeting up, with the condition that he would be the one coming out of pocket because she has no money.

So her using his money, however she sees fit, was part and parcel of her being with him for whatever duration the trip would take.

He didn’t mention anything in the way of dating or relationship goals.

As far as I’m concerned, it was an aimless, albeit expensive, excursion, possibly for sex.

And yet the word “gold digger” gets misapplied when a better term would be to call the guy a “gold giver,” since he is the one wielding all the power. And by power, I mean he is in full control of the one thing that would make that type of relationship work, which is money.

So, blaming the woman for being the recipient of the gold doesn’t follow.

By portraying her as such, men are implicitly framing women as exploiters in the arrangement, even though the man is the one providing resources with glee.

The part towards the end of the video perfectly encapsulates this idea.

The guy starts seething with indignation at the girl’s audacity for ending up with another man after everything he had done, proving that all that pattern of generous spending was not genuine; rather, it was a means to an end. He wanted to fast-track attachment by making her feel indebted to him, and when that didn’t work, he got mad.

Which, if you really think about it, would actually make him the exploiter and not the exploited.

Everything was okay when she was compliant, but as soon as she started putting her foot down, the blame shifted to her greed. How typical.

He should have made money incidental, not instrumental

Instead of leading with his wallet, our guy should have waited a few months, paid for her flight ticket, but let her pay her way for everything else. And then, over time, slowly open up the splurging faucet once he sees they are on the same page.

Otherwise, I feel no pity for him. He deserves to lose that 30k.

    As the old adage goes:

A fool and his money are soon parted.
