Mattr is the world’s first neurodiverse-friendly dating app, designed to provide a more inclusive and mentally healthy experience for neurodivergent individuals. Founder Jamie Johnston, diagnosed with ADHD after the pandemic, created Mattr in response to the overwhelming and often negative emotional experiences people have on mainstream dating apps.
To make a more comfortable dating experience for users with particular needs, Mattr provides a number of specialist features not usually seen on other sites. This includes time-out toggles to take a break from the app, video and voice-activated message options, swipeless matching systems, mental health check-ins, face verification and an “honesty box” deal-breaker sharing system.
Currently limited to just London since its launch in 2023, Mattr is planned to expand its features to other major regions within the UK soon. While Mattr is obviously geared towards a niche, the platform has already facilitated over 10,000 connections, and that number can only grow as the platform covers more and more of the United Kingdom – if not other countries entirely in the near future.
Johnston aims to redefine dating for neurodivergent individuals while being inclusive for everyone, offering a thoughtful and human-centric approach to matchmaking while also putting mental health and authenticity at the forefront.
