Spark network has announced a number of changes to its company’s goals, structure and approach, in an attempt to alter the company’s strategic direction. Spark Network is a leading player in the dating space. It has a portfolio of apps and platforms aimed at different sectors of the market, including SilverSingles, EliteSingles, Zoosk andChristian Mingle, among others.

The changes are hoped to improve growth at the network and improve its margins. One of the main changes happening at the company, is the current chair of the Company’s Board of Directors, Colleen Brown, is stepping in as interim Chief Executive Officer. As a former CEO and Director of Fisher Communications (FSCI), the company believes Brown is ideal to help guide the company through the forthcoming changes. She said:

“Spark is at a critical moment, and I’m pleased to partner with the management team and key stakeholders as we implement the next phase in our plan to return Spark to growth. Our near-term focus is to reduce our fixed cost structure, drive increased predictability in revenue, and create additional financial flexibility for the Company. As we execute this transformation, we expect these steps to improve cash flow, operating margins, and profitability. By simplifying our focus and reducing complexity, we believe we can maximise value for all stakeholders. We look forward to sharing updates on the company’s progress at the appropriate milestones.”

Chelsea Grayson, former CEO has returned to her role as a member of the board in the shake up.

The other big changes announced by the company include collaboration with a leading performance marketing agency and that it is now planning on making use of more third-party managed service providers to reduce its long-term costs. It will be intriguing to see what impact these changes in the company will have on its portfolio of dating apps. Hopefully for the better – we shall wait and see.
