Tinder has released two new informative resources to help singles in Japan navigate through its platform safely and effectively. Its Safe Dating Guide covers dating wellness and etiquette, while the ‘SWIPE SCHOOL’ helps users learn the basics of the platform.
Together with its recently released insights about Gen Z dating habits in the country, Tinder Japan is looking to prepare the next generation for what might be their first dating app experience. This is where the Safe Dating Guide and SWIPE SCHOOL come in.
Tinder shares that it’s important to be happy and healthy both physically and emotionally when dating, as part of ‘dating wellness’. The platform’s Safe Dating Guide shares advice for online and offline dating, emphasising the importance of consent.
Already available in India, this guide explores key safety tips such as not sharing personal information online, the safest places to meet for offline dates, and creating a plan in case of emergencies.
The guide also details some of the in-app safety measures that are available on Tinder, including photo verification, Block & Report tools, the Are You Sure? feature, and warnings for the LGBTQIA+ community when swiping in countries that criminalise same sex relationships.
The SWIPE SCHOOL focuses on the basics of the Tinder platform, including the sign-up process, profile creation, and matching system.
The guide also helps to explain the various benefits and perks that come with Tinder’s premium offerings. The site explores the Plus, Gold, and Platinum tiers, the advantages of a ‘Super Like’, and more.
To help foster the best experience for all daters, the SWIPE SCHOOL also takes visitors through the platform’s Community Guidelines. This highlights important rules such as not using Tinder for business purposes and the zero tolerance for hate.
Cho Kyo, Country Manager – Japan, for Tinder shares “As a platform where many young people gather and communicate with each other, we believe that Tinder has a mission not only to provide a service but also to create an environment where they can enjoy online dating with peace of mind”.
“Through the Tinder Safe Dating Guide and SWIPE SCHOOL that we are announcing at this time, we hope that as many young people as possible will have the correct knowledge, use matching apps with confidence, and enjoy a variety of encounters that will expand the richness of their lives”.
